This training covers the following mandates:
Constitutional Use of LE Authority 1.00 hours
De-escalation Techniques 7.00 + 7.00hrs scenario hours
Law Concerning Stops, Searches, and the Use of Force 0.50 hours
Officer Safety Techniques, Including Cover, Concealment, and Time 7.00 + 3.50hrs scenario hours
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Patrol CQB and Building Searches is a must for all officers so that they may acquire the skills needed to safely and effectively perform building clearing and search tactics. The course content relates to a wide variety of police operations and is a great prerequisite to active threat response training.
COURSE CONTENT
- Law Enforcement Authority and the Use of Force Laws
- Identify and discuss theories and concepts of CQB & Building Search techniques
- Familiarize students with hallway movements, to include the ability to move as a team, demonstrate proper weapon control techniques, the use of cover & concealment, and proper communication skills.
- Provide students with proper room entry skills, movement as a team, establishing points of domination, room clearing and scanning techniques, use of cover & concealment, communication skills with officers, victims, and suspects, and demonstrate proper weapons control techniques.
- Allow students to participate in realistic scenario-based training and demonstrate their ability to perform building searching/room clearing operational skills

You may also fill out and submit our online registration form through the website at www.letac.org or call 217-726-7014 to register by phone (be sure to include all pertinent information). MTU #10 local member department officers will be given registration preference until seven days prior to the date of class. After that date, registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of MTU status. We cannot accept registrations from individual officers. All registrations must go through your Chief, Sheriff, or department training office, even if you are attending class on your own time.
Cancellation: If a class must be canceled for any reason, every effort will be made to do so at least 2 weeks before the class is scheduled to begin. However, there are circumstances where last minute cancellation is out of our control. All officers who have been registered for training will be contacted at the email address given at registration, so please be sure to provide an email address which is checked often
